Srinagar 10 July (KNB): A woman from Batamaloo area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district pleaded Lieutenant Governor of J&K for the release of her husband—who was arrested 3 years ago.

The woman, with her young daughter in arms took to press enclave in Lal Chowk and told the reporters that her husband namely Irfan—a resident of Chandergam Napur area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district— is behind bars in Udhampur jail for past 3 years and that she has no one to reach out.

With tearful eyes, she said, “I have no one to support me and my child. I am pleading the J&K government that whatever mistake my husband has done, forgive him and release him.”

“I have buffeted about from pillar to post for years now and never had anyone by my side,” she cried.

She said that her in-laws have shut the door for her and have been surviving day after day along with her young daughter in a state of utmost distress and miserable condition.

“I plead to the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha, to release my husband,” she cried.

“My condition is destitute and all my relatives have closed doors on me. No one is coming for my and my daughter’s help,” she said, asking, “What has my daughter done to deserve this?”

“She keeps on calling for her father, asks about him, wants him around and I have nothing to say to her. I cannot bear watching my daughter longing for her father anymore,” she said, adding that at least the administration should shift her husband to a jail in Srinagar, so that she can visit him.

She further said her resources were never sufficient to even visit her husband for once during all these years. (KNB)
