Srinagar 10 July (KNB): Two unidentified militants have been killed in an ongoing encounter in Kawarigam area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag on Saturday, said police.
As per police, 2 unidentified militants have been killed in the Kawarigam, Ranipora area of Anantnag following the start of an encounter in the area. They further said that the operation is still on.
The encounter started after search and cordon was carried out by a joint of Police, Army and CRPF after the inputs about the presence of the militants in the area.
Earlier police said that the encounter had started at Kawarigam, Ranipora area of Anantnag. Police and security forces are on the job.
The encounter came on the heels of the one last day in Kulgam in which trapped militants gave escape to the security forces.
However, some days ago four militants of LeT outfit were killed by forces in South Kashmir among whom two slain killed in Kulgam were planning to carry out an attack on National Highway, as per IGP-K Vijay Kumar. (KNB)
