NHW-44 To Be Remain Closed For Traffic Movement on Sunday

Srinagar 10 July (KNB): Jammu-Srinagar National Highway is going to remain off for traffic movement on Sunday in view of the repairing of the road, said traffic official on Saturday. 

As per the official update, the traffic movement is going to remain off on NHW from Jammu to Srinagar and vice versa on Sunday (11-07-2021).  “No vehicular movement shall be allowed from either side on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NHW-44) in view of the restoration work of the road,” said the official.

The decision to close the NHW44 has been necessitated in view of the maintenance and repairing of the road following the landslide, continuous shooting stones and caving in of downslope at Magarkot, as per the official.   

It was also said that On 14-07-2021 Wednesday, there shall be no traffic movement on Jammu-Srinagar NHW from either side in view of maintenance/repairing of the NHW.

Regarding the Mughal road, the traffic officials said that LMVs from both sides and  HMVs (upto ten tyres) from Srinagar towards Poonch shall be allowed on Mughal road. “LMVs from Behramgalla 0800 hrs upto 1500 hours, from Herpora 0800 hrs upto 1600 hrs & HMVs from Herpora 0900 hrs. upto 1500 hrs,” the official added. 

While it was further said that only one way traffic from Srinagar towards Kargil shall be allowed on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road from Sonamarg at 0700 hrs. upto 1500 hrs. No Vehicle shall be allowed before & after cut off timing, as per the official. (KNB)
