Srinagar 07 August (KNB): One unidentified militant has been killed by security forces In an encounter in Central Kashmir Budgam’s Mochwa area, said police on Saturday morning.
As per an official, the encounter started in the wee hours of the morning after a cordon and search operation was launched by a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF in the suspected area.
While zeroing in on the spot, the holed up militants fired upon the searching parties which was retaliated by forces, thus triggering the encounter.
In the encounter, one unidentified militant has been killed and one AK 47 and one pistol has been recovered, as per police.
However, the searches were going on till the filing of this report.
It is pertinent to mention that the encounter came after the one fought in Jammu’s Rajouri district in which two militants of LeT outfit were killed, as per IGP Jammu. (KNB)
