Srinagar 06 August (KNB): After demolition of a property of Nawakadal residents by the Enforcement Officer of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) without keeping his senior officers in the know, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P K Pole today ordered suspension of the accused officer.
An order copy from Div Com addressed to SMC’s Commissioner clearly stated that Enforcement Officer, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, be suspended for demolishing Nawakadal brothers’ property.
The communication reads that “A report was sought from Patwari concerned to ascertain the factual position, who submitted the same. The concerned Enforcement officer has demolished the property of three brothers from Nawakadal on his own without obtaining orders from his superiors. The accused officer has misused his official position and took law in his hands.”
“In this connection you are directed to place the accused Enforcement Officer under suspension with immediate effect and submit a compliance report to this office accordingly through return fax,” it added. (KNB)
