Sopore 9 January (KNB): Sopore police on Saturday evening claimed to have arrested five LeT militant associates in Sopore town of north Kashmir Baramulla district.
A statement issued to Kashmir News Bureau said that while acting on a specific human/technical inputs, Sopore police and security forces arrested five OGW’s of LeT outfit with incriminating materials.
Officials identified the arrested men as Khursheed Ahmad Lone S/o Abdul Rehman Lone R/o Nowpora Jagir Kreeri Baramulla, Bashir Ahmad Zargar S/o Ghulam-ud-din Zargar R/o Behrampora Rafiabad, Javid Ahmad Pandith S/o Nazir Ahmad Pandith R/o Dangerpora Sopore, Waseem Ahmad Lone S/o Ghulam Rasool Lone R/o Botingoo Sopore and Arif Ahmad Khanday S/o Shams-ud-din Khanday R/o Zaloora Sopore.
Officials further stated that they were involved in providing of logistics and other assistance/transportation to the LeT militants and were also in constant contact with the active militants of the outfit to carry out subversive activities within the jurisdiction of Police District Sopore.
“The arrested OGWs Khursheed Ahmad Lone S/o Abdul Rehman Lone R/o Nowpora Jagir Kreeri Baramulla has been arrested in Case FIR No. 122/2020 of PS Tarzoo, Bashir Ahmad Zargar S/o Ghulam-ud-din Zargar R/o Behrampora Rafiabad is arrested in Case FIR No. 154/2020 of PS Dangiwacha, Javid Ahmad Pandith S/o Nazir Ahmad Pandith R/o Dangerpora Sopore and Waseem Ahmad Lone S/o Ghulam Rasool Lone R/o Botingoo Sopore were arrested in Case FIR No. 360/2020 of PS Sopore while as OGW Arif Ahmad Khanday S/o Shams-ud-din Khanday R/o Zaloora Sopore is arrested in Case FIR No. 84/2020 of PS Bomai,” officials stated, adding that the investigation of these cases is going on.
