SMC Commissioner Directs Officials to Ensure Swift Removal of Snow, Garbage from City

Srinagar 9 January (KNB): Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) commissioner Gazanfar Ali today directed officials to ensure swift removal of snow and garbage from the city.

Ali said that as the weather improved men and machinery were put into service and cleared 145 tons of waste, which was dumped at the land fill site at Achan.

A statement issued to Kashmir News Bureau said that Gazanfar Ali directed officials to attended to people’s needs.

Meanwhile, SMC Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu and Deputy Mayor Parvez Qadri toured the city and took stock of the efforts being made by the SMC staff on ground.

Officials stated that Mayor Mattu visited Naushera, Safakadal, Alamgari Bazaar, Lal Bazaar areas and interacted with the locals, assuring them timely clearance of snow.

Further, the Mayor directed the local officials including ward officers to attend to the requirement of locals and speed up snow clearance to ensure no civilian suffers any inconvenience.

Deputy mayor also visited Zaina Kadal, Khanyar, Dal and Rainawari areas of the City.
He talked to the inhabitants of these areas and sought their feedback regarding snow clearance as well as assured them every possible help from the corporation. (KNB)
