PDP General Secretary Concerned Over Snowfall-Induced Damages to Fruit Growers in Kashmir’s Different Parts

Srinagar 25 October (KNB): Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (PDP) general secretary and former minister Adv. Gh. Nabi Lone Hanjora expressed serious concern over the damages caused to fruit growers in Shopian, Kulgam, Annantnag and Budgam and elsewhere in Kashmir due to the fresh snowfall.

In a statement, Adv. Gh. Nabi Lone Hanjora urged the government to assess the losses caused to orchards in the above-mentioned districts and elsewhere in Kashmir due to the fresh snowfall, which has been catastrophic to the Fruit Industry, leaving the growers in a great difficulty.

Lone Hanjora said It was very sad to learn about the damages caused to Fruit, the growers need to be compensated for the damages they have suffered due to the snowfall.Gh Nabi Lone Hajora told that the the fruit industry is biggest industry of Kashmir which is in big losses for last three years due to abrogation of article 370 ,than untimely snow fall and covid pandemic.PDP general secretary added and emphasized that the losses must be assessed in order to ensure timely compensation to fruit growers wave off the KCC loan amount to those growers who suffered big losses during this period. 

The PDP general Secretary  and former minister also urged the government to ensure supply of electricity and availability of essentials in Kashmir in view of the fast approaching harsh days of winter, besides keeping tight vigil on prices of essentials and other required items. (KNB)
