Srinagar 9 August (KNB): Former Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party President on Monday said that National Investigation Agency (NIA) raids on Jamaat (Jel) is emblematic of Government of India waging a war against its so called ‘integral part’.
Mehbooba Mufti in her Tweets said, “NIA raids on Jamaat is emblematic of GOI waging a war against its so called ‘integral part’. Instead of fighting an ideology with a better idea it is crushing contrarian thought with an iron fist.”
“such oppressive measures may seem to work temporarily but in the long run it will prove to be counter productive. The gulf between J&K & rest of the country widens with every passing day,” she further said, adding that “It is a self goal.”
Pertinent to mention that on Sunday, NIA along with JKP and CRPF conducted searches at 56 locations in Districts of Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal, Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Anantnag, Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar and Rajouri of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per NIA, these searches were conducted in Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) funding case (RC-03/2021/NIA/DLI). (KNB)
