Budgam 5 July (KNB): A man allegedly attempted to end his life by consuming some poisonous substance in Khansahib area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Officials said that the 25 year old man tried to end his life by consuming poison at his home in Basantwooder area of Khansahib on Monday.
He was rushed to the nearest hospital of the area and is undergoing treatment, they said, adding that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the law at Police Station Khansahib and further investigation into the incident has been initiated as well.
Important to mention that amid the rising cases of suicide in Kashmir valley, it has become necessary for the people to raise awareness among each other, within families about the mental health conditions and indulge in open minded conversations. (KNB)
