Srinagar 18 November (KNB): A magisterial inquiry by an officer of ADM rank has been ordered in the Hyderpora encounter, said Lieutenant Governor, J&K, Manoj Sinha on Thursday.

In the Hyderpora encounter, a businessman, Altaf Bhat and a doctor, Mudasir Gul were killed along with two others. The families of the duo have been refuting the official version, which claimed that the both slain were militant associates.

To demand justice and both slain’s bodies for their last rites, the distraught families staged a sit-in protest yesterday in the press enclave and were later in the late-night detained by police.

However, in the wake of the duo’s killings in Hyderpora encounter, LG Sinha ordered for a magisterial inquiry into the operation.

LG on his twitter handle said that “A magisterial inquiry by an officer of ADM rank has been ordered in the Hyderpora encounter.”

He said that the government will take suitable action as soon as the report is submitted in a time-bound manner.

“JK admin reiterates commitment of protecting lives of innocent civilians & it will ensure there is no injustice,” said LG in his tweet. (KNB)
