Top Militant Commander of Hizb Among 3 Killed in Pombai Encounter

Srinagar 18 November (KNB): Police on Thursday said quoting Inspector of General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar that a top Hizb Commander was killed among three militants in Bombai encounter in South Kashmir’s kulgam. 

The encounter in Bombai started yesterday afternoon between militants and security forces which was followed by another encounter in Gopalpora area of Kulgam. 

In both encounters, five militants were killed by forces and among whom two have been identified as Afaq Sikender and Shakir Nazar,  militant commanders of TRF and HM, respectively, as per IGP-K.

Last day, police said that three militants were killed by forces in Bombai encounter and among whom one has been identified as Shakir Nazar, a top militant commander of HM outfit, said police on Thursday morning quoting IGP-K. 

However, in another encounter in the Gopalpora area of Kulgam, two militants were killed by forces and one among the duo was identified by IGP-K as Afaq Sikender, a commander of TRF outfit.  

Regarding Nazar, IGP said that he was active since 2018 and termed it a big success. (KNB)
