Joint Meeting of Army, CRPF, Police Held in Bandipora After Militant Attack in District

Srinagar 11 December (KNB): After an attack on police party by militants at Gulshan Chowk in North Kashmir’s Bandipora in which two cops were killed, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar and GOC Kilo Force Major General Sanjiv Singh Salaria on Saturday held a joint meeting of officers in the district. 

In the meeting having the presence of Army, CRPF and Police officers, the emphasis was given to work out on producing specific inputs and strengthening anti-militancy operations in the district. Prior to the meeting, GOC Kilo Force Gen. S S Salaria visited the spot of yesterday’s militant attack in Bandipora and inspected the scene. 

Regarding the Bandipora attack, IGP said that the attack was carried out by a single militant assisted by Over Ground Workers (OGWs). He had also said that the militant is a foreigner affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit.

In the yesterday attack, two cops were left critically injured who later died of their gunshot injuries. Both the deceased cops were identified  as SgCt Mohammad Sultan and constable Fayaz Ahmad. (KNB)
