Fourth National Lok Adalat Organised in Budgam

Budgam 11 Dec(KNB): On the directions of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, Executive Chairman, JKLSA and radiant guidance of Mohammad Ashraf Malik- Chairman DLSA Budgam, Fourth National Lok Adalat was organized today on 11th of December 2021 in District Budgam.

In a statement issued to news gathering agency KNB that, National Lok Adalat was inaugurated by  Mohammad Ashraf Malik-Chairman District Legal Services Authority Budgam, at District Court Complex Budgam at 11:00 A.M. Each Court had identified cases for the Lok Adalat beforehand and same were placed before eight (8) different benches constituted by DLSA Budgam for settlement in National Lok Adalat.

Nevertheless, Bench No. 1, comprised of Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Malik ( PDJ Budgam) and Ms. Fozia Paul (Secretary DLSA Budgam). Bench No. 2 comprised of Mr. Sunil Sangra (Addl. DJ Budgam) and Mr. Jehangir Ahmad Bakshi (Sub Judge Budgam). Bench No.3 comprised of Mr. Malik Shabir Ahmad (CJM Budgam) and Ms Uzma Amin (JMIC Budgam). Bench No. 4 comprised of Ms Tabasum QadirParray( Sub Judge Chadoora) and Mr. Mohammad Ishtiyaq Allam (JMIC Chadoora). Bench No. 5 Comprised of Mr. Javid Ahmad Parray-JMIC Beerwah and Mr. Naseer Ahmad (President, Bar Association Beerwah). Bench No. 6 comprised of Ms Danista Shafi ( JMIC Magam) and Mr. Perzada Aftab Ahmad Shah (President, Bar Association Magam). Bench No. 7 comprised of Ms Farha (JMIC Chararisharief) and Mr. Mashooq Ahmad (President, Bar Association Chararisharief)
Moreover, the matters placed before the Benches included Civil, Criminal Compoundable, Cheque bounce, Bank matters, MACT, Land Compensation, Matrimonial, Tenancy, Electricity and Pre-litigation matters. However, efforts were made to place oldest cases before the Benches for their settlement as per the directions of Hon’ble Executive Chairman, JK LSA.

Nonetheless, a total number of 12079 pre litigation matters were taken up amongst which 11972 number of pre litigation matters pertaining to far-flung rural areas including Khansahib, Mujpathri, Lanilab, Parnewa, Khag, Beerwah were settled. Further, a total number of around 45000 beneficiaries were benefitted from the above pre litigation matters. It included development works in the above mentioned areas which included repairments and constructions of different drains in rural areas including some schools, construction of Bunds, Pathways, Link roads and fencing of cremation shed of Sikh Community of Bandaybagh and some other fencing of grave yards etc. Further, the pre litigation matters also included bank recovery matters, PDD, PHE, Social Welfare Schemes, matrimonial disputes, land disputes, BSNL cases, municipality cases etc.
Moreover, a total number of 592 post litigation matters were taken up for their amicable settlement. Out of which 314 number of matters were settled including civil, criminal compoundable, cheque bounce and matrimonial cases

Nonetheless, a total number of 12671 matters were taken up for their amicable settlement, out of which 12286 matters were settled. Besides, an amount of Rs.13.70 crores was realized in toto in the settlement. The settled matters included MACT matters, Land Compensation Matter, bank recovery cases, wherein the highest award of Rs7.35 crores was awarded in one of the land compensation matter.(KNB)
