Srinagar 19 August (KNB): India reported 36,401 new coronavirus cases and 530 fatalities in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
With 530 deaths, the total fatalities across the country so far has taken to 433049.
As per the morning update by the Health Ministry, India’s active caseload stands at 3,64,129, which is the lowest in 149 days and these active cases account for 1.13 per cent of total cases, which is the lowest since March 2020.
The Health Ministry said that there have been 39,157 recoveries in the last 24 hours and the total recoveries in the country has reached 3,15,25,080. Recovery rate has increased to 97.53 per cent, which is the highest since March 2020.
According to the MoHFW, weekly positivity rate stands at 1.95 per cent, which remains less than 3 per cent for the last 55 days and the daily positivity rate stands at 1.94 per cent, which remains less than 3 per cent for the last 24 days
Moreover, the Health Ministry informed that 56.64 Crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive and a total of 50.03 crore Covid tests have been conducted so far across the nation. (KNB)
