IGP-K Vijay Kumar Says Few Militants Still Active in Srinagar

Srinagar 15 September (KNB): Few militants are said to be active in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar, as per the Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar. 

IGP-K said to reporters on the sidelines of Taekwondo Championship at Indoor Sports Hall, Polo Ground Srinagar that few militants are still active in Srinagar and are looking out for them.  He further said that besides the militants, around 10-15 Over Ground Workers (OGWs) are also present in Srinagar. 

While talking about the presence of the few militants in the Srinagar district, IGP-K said the militants would be either arrested or killed in the encounters.  

Regarding the organizing of more sports activities from police in Kashmir, which was questioned by one of the reporters, Vijay Kumar stressed on the importance of sports activities and the pivotal role it plays to keep youth away from militancy and drugs. 

However, organizing more sports activities in the offing was also promised by IGP and stressed on the development of youth by the sports, which help them to give wide berth to other wrong things. (KNB)
