Srinagar 24 January (KNB): Ahead of the Republic day celebrations, Police and security forces besides students from various schools and colleges had a full dress rehearsal of the Republic Day parade on Sunday in all the districts of Kashmir valley.
A statement issued to Kashmir News Bureau said that various contingents of Police, J&K Armed Police, CAPFs, Home-Guards, Fire & Emergency Services and Forest Protection Forces participated in a full dress rehearsal for the Republic Day parade.
In Srinagar, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Shri Pandurang K. Pole presided over the parade at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium Sonwar. On the occasion IGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar, SSP Srinagar Haseeb Mughal and other senior officers from Police and security forces were present.
In Budgam, Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam Shri Dr Nasir Ahmed Lone presided over the Republic Day rehearsal parade at Sports Stadium Budgam. On the occasion, ASP Budgam, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shri Rayez Ahmed, CMO Budgam Shri Dr. Tajamul Hussain and various dignitaries from civil administration and CAPF were present.
In Ganderbal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Farooq Ahmad Baba presided over the Republic Day rehearsal parade at Qamariya Ground Ganderbal. DySP Hqrs Dr Majid and other senior officers of civil administration, police department were present on the occasion.
In Baramulla, Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla Aijaz Ahmad presided over the Republic Day rehearsal parade at District Police Lines Baramulla. On the occasion SSP Baramulla Abdul Qayoom, and various dignitaries from civil administration and CAPF were also present.
In Kupwara, ADC Kupwara Nazir Ahmad Lone presided over the Republic Day rehearsal parade at District Police Lines Kupwara. On the occasion ASP Kupwara Ifroz Ahmad, and other senior officers of civil administration, police department and security forces were present.
In Bandipora, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad presided over the Republic Day rehearsal parade at S.K Stadium Bandipora. DySP Hqrs Bandipora, DySP DAR Bandipora and other senior officers of civil administration, police department were present on the occasion.
In Sopore, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore Parvaiz Sajad presided over the Republic Day rehearsal parade at Khushal Sports Stadium Sopore. SSP Sopore Javaid Iqbal, and other senior officers from civil administration, police department and security forces were also present on the occasion.
In Kulgam, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Reyaz Ahmad Sofi presided over the Republic Day rehearsal parade at District Police Lines Kulgam. ASP Kulgam Mohd Yousuf and other senior officers of civil administration, police department were present on the occasion.
In Shopian, Additional District Development Commissioner Shopian Sheikh Abdul Aziz presided over the Republic Day rehearsal parade at District Police Lines Shopian. On the occasion ASP Shopian Arif Amin Shah and other senior officers of Police and civil administration were present.
In Pulwama, Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwamai Shabir Ahmad Raina presided over the Republic Day rehearsal parade at District Police Lines Pulwama. ASP Pulwama Tanveer Ahmad and other senior officers of civil administration, police department were present on the occasion.
In Awantipora, Tehsildar Awantipora Mohammad Maqbool presided over Republic Day rehearsal parade at District Police Lines Awantipora. On the occasion ADC Awantipora Zaffar Husson Shawl, SP Awantipora Tahir Saleem, and other senior officers of civil administration and Police were present.
Moreover Republic Day rehearsal parades were also held in other districts of Kashmir including district Anantnag and PD Handwara.
The contingents of police and other forces marched past the national flag in all district headquarters.
Various colourful cultural programmes were also presented by the students of various schools and colleges. (KNB)
