Rajnath Singh Launches Revamped Gallantry Awards Portal; Praises Soldiers

New Delhi 25 January (KNB): A day before India observes it’s 72nd Republic Day, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched Revamped Gallantry Awards Portal and emphasised on the importance of soldiers in defending and upholding the dignity and sovereignty of India.

Virtually, different schools across the country performed on the occasion and Rajhnath while praising it said that the main role in building a better future of this country is going to be played by brave children of the nation.

Defence minister said that since the independence, our country has faced number of challenges, be it 1948, 1962, 1965, 1972, 1975, Kargil war, any proxy wars or counter terrorism; the soldiers have fought bravely, sacrificed everything to defend the nation and to protect it’s sovereignty.

He said that our country is touching the new heights because of the sacrifice made by our brave soldiers selflessly.

Rajnath also said that the soldiers play a vital role to achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aim of making India a 5 trillion economy by 2024-25, as it is not possible if the country isn’t well defended and safe.

He also mentioned several defence-related promises the central government has fulfilled, including the One Rank One Pension (OROP) and the National Defence Memorial.

Rajnath Singh further said that until ‘national provide’ isn’t there within the youth of the nation, the country won’t be able to reach the heights of success that we want to achieve.

Gallantry Awards have been instituted by the Government of India to honour the acts of bravery and sacrifice of the officers/personnel of the Armed Forces, other lawfully constituted Forces and civilians. (KNB)
