Forces Recover Heroin Consignment in Mendhar

Poonch 4 March (KNB): In an operation by army and police, a consignment of Heroin like substance containing around 840 grams narcotics has been recovered from Mendhar town of Poonch district

In a statement issued to Kashmir News Bureau, Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch Ramesh Angral said that on a specific input, a team of police along with Army’s 37 RR and NCCIU launched a joint operation in Dharana area of Mendhar.

During the search, a packet—which was kept hidden—was found and had around 840 grams of Heroin like substance, said SSP.

He added that police team which was part of operation was headed by SDPO Mendhar Zaheer Abbas Jafri and a case under relevant sections of law have been registered.

He further said that an investigation is going on to identify the source of consignment and to nab the accused. (KNB)
