Awantipora 05 March (KNB): Police in Pampore area of South Kashmir’s Awantipora on Friday arrested a drug peddler and recovered poppy straw from his possession.
As per police the drug peddler was arrested in the Pampore area when he was seen moving in suspicious circumstances at Bagender Crossing Pampore.
“Around 8 kgs of poppy straw was recovered from the arrested person,” police said.
However, the police has identified as Mohammad Younis Masoodi son of Farooq Ahmad Masoodi, a resident of Bagender Pampore.
Pertinently, a case vide FIR number 25/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Pampore and further investigation has been initiated. (KNB)
