Delay in Opening of Educational Institutions Unjustified: AIP

Srinagar 03 July (KNB): Awami Ittihad Party (AIP) urged the Union Territory (UT) administration to open schools in Jammu and Kashmir at an earliest as in the “garb of COVID19 pandemic students have become the worst sufferers.”

In a statement issued here party spokesperson, Firdous Baba said. “Education sector has badly suffered due to the pandemic. The loss in this sector is irreparable and it is very difficult to compensate for it.

While hailing the efforts of the education department the spokesperson said, “although education department and teacher community left no stone unturned to provide a quality education through online classes and community classes, schooling is important for the overall growth of students.”

AIP appealed UT government to direct the education department to open the school in shifts and follow proper Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) being set from time to time.

They further appreciated the collective role of the society in containing the spread of the virus and said, “It is appreciable that we have controlled the virus to some extent and a good number of people have taken vaccine jabs as well.”

AIP pointed out the opening of markets, public and religious places amid the pandemic and asked why only schools remain closed?

The spokesperson appeals to the government to start the process of opening schools in intervals. (KNB)
