NHW-44 To Remain Closed For Traffic Movement on Wednesday: Official

Srinagar 03 August (KNB): Jammu-Srinagar National Highway is going to remain off for traffic movement on Wednesday in view of the repairing of the road, said traffic official on Tuesday.

As per the official update, the traffic movement is going to remain off on NHW from Jammu to Srinagar and vice versa on Wednesday (4-8-21).  “No vehicular movement shall be allowed from either side on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NHW-44) between Nashree and Jawahar Tunnel,” said the official.

The decision to close the NHW44 has been necessitated in view of the maintenance and repairing of the road, as per the official.   

It was also said that only one way traffic from Kargil towards Srinagar shall be allowed on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road from  Minamarg at 0700 hrs. upto 1400 hrs. “No vehicles shall be allowed before & after cut off timing,” the official added. 

Regarding the Mughal road, the traffic officials said that LMVs from both sides and  HMVs (upto ten tyres) from Srinagar towards Poonch shall be allowed on Mughal road. LMVs from Behramgalla 0800 hrs upto 1500 hrs., from Herpora 0800 hrs upto 1600 hrs & HMVs from Herpora 0900 hrs. upto 1500 hrs.

However, it was further said that Kishtwar-Sinthan road is through for both ways traffic of LMVs only, subject to fair weather and road condition. (KNB)
