Srinagar 15 September (KNB): Kishtwar Police on Wednesday said that they have apprehended an ex-militant turned absconder, who was evading arrest from the last 12 years.
As per an official statement, On specific information received through reliable sources, a special police team of PP Jwalapur was constituted. The team led by PSI Moin Khan under supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Devinder Singh Bandral raided the suspected locations and arrested the absconder.
The official said that the arrested absconder (ex-militant) has been identified as Nazir Ahmed S/o Noor Mohd Gorsi, a resident of Budhar Bonjwah Kishtwar. Police said that a case FIR No. 187/2009 U/Sec.307/ RPC 7/27 IA Act was registered at Police Station Kishtwar against him 2009.
Later, the said absconder was produced before the Hon’ble Session Court Kishtwar and accordingly on the orders of the Hon’ble Court the accused has been lodged in judicial custody, said police. (KNB)
