Srinagar, 09 November (KNB): In anticipation of snowfall in the Kashmir valley, the Government of Jammu & Kashmir through the Sub Divisional Magistrate in Gulmarg, has issued a crucial order to enhance safety on the Tangmarg-Gulmarg route.
Effective immediately, only 4×4 vehicles and those equipped with anti-skid chains will be allowed to ply on the road to prevent accidents and traffic disruptions caused by slippery conditions.
The official order, numbered SDM/G/2023 /145i – S and dated 09/11/2023, outlines the necessity of this measure in light of the snow forecast.
The directive emphasizes the importance of restricting vehicle types to minimize inconvenience for commuters and avoid potential accidents during winter weather.-KNB
