‘Was Questioned by ED About Bijbehara Land, CM Secret Funds, Money Spent on Youth Engagement’ Says PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti

Srinagar 18 August (KNB): PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said that the Enforcement Directorate questioned her about their Bijbehara land, spending of secret funds as a Chief Minister, besides other things.

Mehbooba Mufti, along with her mother, Gulshan Nazir, on Wednesday late morning reached ED in Srinagar in compliance with a summons from the agency in an alleged money laundering case.

Hours after when Mufti came outside from the ED office, she said to reporters that she was questioned about their land in Bijbehara and how it was sold and its money utilized. She further said that questions pertained about the source behind the listing of widows to whom she was giving money and how she spent money, if any, on the youth engagement.

“All that is happening is not rocket science. Dissent has been criminalised in the country. This country is ruled either by ED, CBI or NIA. One gets charged under sedition or a money laundering case is slapped against a person who speaks up,” said Mehbooba Mufti to reporters.

She also said that the country is not being run by the constitution but by some political parties and one gets hounded on saying anything.

However, Mufti further said that PDP would stand firm on their demands and especially regarding the restoration of Article 370. (KNB)
