Constitute UT Level Committee For Implementing, Monitoring HIV/TB/Blood Donation Campaigns: Govt

Srinagar 18 August (KNB): The Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday ordered for the constitution of a UT Level Committee for implementing and monitoring HIV/TB/Blood Donation Campaigns under New India @ 75 Concept in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, as per an order. 

The order reads that sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of UT Level Committee, comprising the following, for implementing and monitoring HIV/TB/Blood Donation Campaigns under New India @ 75 Concept in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. 

It further said that Project Director, J&K AIDS Control Society (JKACS) would be the committee’s chairman and its member/members would include Director School Education Jammu/Kashmir; Director Colleges, Higher Education, J&K; Director Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, J&K; Deputy Director (Basic Services Division), JKACS; Deputy Director (IEC), JKAS; Chief Accounts Officer, JKACS; Chief Medical Officers; Programme Officer of National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme, Kashmir/Jammu; Representatives of All India Radio, J&K (Jammu/Srinagar); Representatives of Doordarshan Kendra, J&K (Jammu/Srinagar); Representatives of Press Information Bureau, J&K (Jammu/Srinagar); Representatives from NGOs (Targeted Intervention), JKACS; All Assistant Directors, JKACS and Assistant Director (Youth Affairs), JKACS.  

As per the order terms of reference includes —  to prepare UT District level implementation plan and media plan for awareness regarding HIV, TB and blood donation; to identify high prevalent district for flagging the HIV/TB/Blood donation, campaigns in phased manner; to identify schools and colleges-in high prevalent districts; to publicize and ensure coverage of the campaigns through AIR and Doordarshan other TV/Radio channels and to organize orientation and fortnightly meetings.
