Srinagar, Aug 10 (KNB): A youth in Shopian’s Tangwani-Tuckroo village sustained a bullet injury in his abdomen on Friday during clashes when a cordon and search operation was under way .
Identified as Fayaz Ahmad, a resident of Poterwal village, the injured youth was being treated at SMHS hospital Srinagar when the last reports came in.
According to eyewitness, the forces resorted to direct firing when their vehicles were pelted with stones by youth who took to the streets after the government forces launched the operation, resulting in the serious injury to the youth.
Meanwhile, a 13-year-old boy identified as Shariq Ahmad sofi, was critically injured during clashes between forces and youth in downtown areas of Srinagar today. The reports say that Shariq’s condition is critical and is being treated at a hospital for pellet injuries in his head.
