Kulgam 30 June (KNB): Two unidentified militants have been killed in an ongoing encounter which started on Wednesday in Chimmer area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Police, while confirming the killing of two militants, said that “02 unidentified militants (have been) killed. Operation in progress. Further details shall follow.”
Earlier an official said that a cordon and search operation was launched in the area after specific intel about the presence of militants was received.
As the joint party of security forces approached the suspected spot, hiding militants opened fire and the encounter ensued, officials added.
However, Police said, “Encounter started at Chimmer area of Kulgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.” (KNB)
