Two Policemen Booked on Charges of Extortion in Srinagar

Srinagar 14 December (KNB): On the charges of extortion, two policemen have been booked here in Srinagar on Monday after an allegation from a man, resident of south Kashmir’s Pulwama.

 

As per reports to the Kashmir News Bureau (KNB), the two accused policemen were booked following the allegation of extortion. The two cops were demanding money form a man, who resides in south Kashmir’s Pulwama, on one thing or the other.

 

The accused policemen, Head Constable Ajaz Ahmed and Selection Grade Constable Bashir Ahmed, have been booked for extortion under section 34, 380, 384, 420, 506 IPC against them at police station Kothi Bagh under FIR number 97/2020. Among the accused cops one is posted in Srinagar while another is in Shopian district of South Kashmir.

 

According to the police officer, the accused policemen have not been arrest yet while the case has been registered. Also, the complainant is out of the station, and once he will be back, the matter will be resurrected again, he added.  (KNB)
