Terror Attack in Pahalgam Kills 26 Civilians: Sources

Srinagar 22 April(KNB): At least 26 were killed in a terror attack famous tourist destination Pahalgam, of Anantnag district, on Tuesday, resulting in the tragic loss of 26 civilian lives, sources said.

The attack took place at Baisaran, a picturesque meadow accessible only by foot or pony, where a group of tourists had gathered. The exact number of fatalities is still being confirmed.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the attack, describing it as “much larger than anything we’ve seen directed at civilians in recent years.”

In response to the incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an emergency phone conversation with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, instructing him to take necessary measures.

Amit Shah departed for Srinagar to assess the situation and convene an urgent security review meeting with all relevant agencies.(KNB)
