Srinagar, May 6 (KNB): The State Investigation Agency (SIA) Kashmir on Wednesday said it has attached immovable property belonging to a Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK)-based operative of the banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in connection with a major narco-terror case.
In a statement issued to Kashmir News Bureau (KNB), the agency said the action pertains to FIR No. 03/2023 of Police Station ANTF, which was initially registered by the Anti Narcotics Task Force and later transferred to SIA Kashmir for specialised investigation after the case revealed larger terror financing and cross-border narco-terror links.
The statement said investigations uncovered that the accused, Zameer Ahmad Lone, son of Ahmad Gul Lone, a resident of Mandiyan Keran in Kupwara and presently operating from PoJK, was actively involved in narco-terror activities aimed at destabilising peace and security in Jammu & Kashmir. He has already been declared a proclaimed offender by a competent court for evading arrest and continuing anti-national activities from across the border.
“As per the court orders, SIA Kashmir today attached immovable property measuring 01 Kanal and 14.37 Marlas under Khasra No. 113 at Mandiyan Keran, Kupwara,” the statement said, adding that the attachment was carried out by a specialised SIA team in the presence of the Executive Magistrate and local revenue officials, strictly following legal procedures.
The agency further said that it had earlier filed a comprehensive charge sheet in the case after gathering substantial evidence related to narco-smuggling, terror financing and cross-border terror links.
The statement emphasised that the action reflects SIA Kashmir’s firm resolve to dismantle terror ecosystems, including terror funding and narco-terror networks operating from across the border.
“SIA remains committed to identifying and taking strict legal action against individuals and entities involved in activities prejudicial to the sovereignty and security of the nation,” it said.
The agency also reiterated its commitment to support the broader mission of a drug-free society under the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’, in coordination with other law enforcement and civil agencies.(KNB)
