Shopian 19 October (KNB): A Militant has been in killed in an ongoing gun-battle in Melhura area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Earlier Officials told KNB that based on specific information about the presence of militants in the area, a joint team of police and army’s 55RR launched a Cordon and Search Operation.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gun-battle, during which an unidentified militant has been killed, officials said.
As per the officials, 184 militants have been killed so far this year in the Valley.(KNB)
