Srinagar 27 March (KNB): Two militants, one Army personnel were killed in the encounter which broke on Saturday evening in Wangam area of south Kashmir’s Shopian.
Officials said that another militant was killed in the gunbattle and one army personnel also lost his life in the action.
As per officials two unidentified militants, one army trooper have been killed and another one army trooper sustained bullet injuries during the on going operation so far.
Earlier, officials said a joint team of forces and police launched a cordon and search operation in Wangam area, following the inputs about the presence of militants.
Officials said that upon reaching the suspected spot, hiding militants opened fire which was retaliated with the same response by forces, triggering off the encounter.
Furthermore, officials added that an American made assault M4 Rifle was recovered from the first slain militant. (KNB)
