Srinagar 20 October (KNB): In a shopian encounter, in which two militants including district commander were killed by security forces, one Army soldier has succumbed to his injuries after being gravely injured in the gunfight.
As per an official, three army personnel had been injured in the encounter in Shopain’s Dragad among whom one of the soldiers died of his injuries sustained during the gunfight.
In the encounter, two militants were also killed by forces. One of the slain militants was identified as Adil Ahmad Wani, who was affiliated with LeT (TRF) and was also a district commander, as per IGP-K.
IGP said earlier that Wani was active since last year’s July and was involved in the killing of non-local Carpenter Sageer, who was killed in Pulwama’s Litter last week.
He further said that including today encounter’s slain, a total of 15 militants have been killed in two weeks in Kashmir. (KNB)
