Security Forces Thwart Weapon Smuggling Attempt in North Kashmir’s Kupwara says Police

Srinagar 29 May (KNB): A cache of weapons were on Saturday claimed by security forces to have been recovered during the search in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, as per police.

The police said that the attempt to smuggle weapons by militants was thwarted after the recovery of three AK-47 rifles, six magazines, four pistols and nine magazines from the spot at forward Jabdi area of Tangdhar sector of Kupwara.     

Police in this regard said that “Kupwara Police & Army in an ops at the forward Jabdi Tangdhar Sector Kupwara today thwarted an attempt by militants to smuggle weapons.”  

They further said “03 AK-47 rifles & 06 magazines and 04 pistols & 9 magazines have been recovered from the spot. Search in the area is going on.” (KNB)
