Security Forces Foils Infiltration Bid in North Kashmir; Arms & Ammunition, Heroin Worth 30 Cr Recovered: Police

Srinagar 25 June (KNB): Security forces in North Kashmir’s Kupwara have thwarted an attempt of an infiltrator who was trying sneak into this side with weapons and drugs, said police on Friday. 

According to police, the infiltrator’s attempt was foiled at Tangdhar by a joint team of Kupwara police, 7RR and 87 Bn BSF. The infiltrator was said to have in possession of drugs, arms and ammunition which he had left behind. 

Police in this regard said that “Kupwara Police along with 7RR and 87Bn BSF foiled infiltration bid at Tangdhar area. Recovered arms, ammunition & drugs left behind by the infiltrators including 01 AK47, 01 Pistol, 02 grenades & other ammunition & 06 packets of Heroin (market value approx Rs 30 Crs).” (KNB)
