Srinagar 4 April (KNB): The schools in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will remain open for both teaching and non-teaching staff as the government has decided to shut all classes in the schools up to the 9th standard from 5 to 18 April 2021 and 10th to 12th from 5 to 11 April 2021.

Administrative Secretary, School Education Department, B K Singh, while talking to Kashmir News Bureau, said the teaching and non-teaching staff have to come to schools as the government has decided to shut classes till 9th and 10th to 12th from 5 to 18 April and 5 to 11 April respectively.

Singh said that as employees of other departments, the teaching and non-teaching staff would continue to attend the schools during the days when students have been advised to remain at their homes.

However, the decision to shut classes was taken by the government given the rising cases of Covid19 in J&K. Although this is a temporary closure of classes for the students till 12th standard, Singh has maintained that the schools will remain open for teaching and non-teaching staff across the UT.
