School Issues Clarification on Class 3 Student’s Health Incident, Accuses Parent of Misinformation and Obstruction

Srinagar, June 11(KNB): The administration of Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School, Srinagar, has issued a formal clarification following an incident involving a student of Class 3-C, Ayat Altaf, who according to school experienced a health issue during school hours on June 10.

According to the school, the student complained of a headache and was promptly taken to the school’s health room. As per protocol, her parent was contacted, and based on medical advice, she was administered a prescribed tablet for her known migraine condition under supervision. CCTV footage reportedly confirms that she was properly cared for throughout the episode.

The school statement further alleges that when the child’s father, Altaf Ahmad Dar, arrived at the premises, he disrupted the efforts of the staff to transport the student to the nearest hospital. Despite his agitation, the school respected his decision to shift the child to a hospital of his choice and arranged for a school vehicle to facilitate the transfer. However, midway through the journey, the father allegedly diverted the vehicle toward Press Colony instead of a hospital, an action the school interprets as an attempt to escalate the issue publicly rather than address the child’s medical need.

School authorities have strongly denied any claims of misconduct or mistreatment by its staff, asserting that all protocols were followed with the child’s safety in mind. “The school maintains a strict safeguarding policy, and our staff acted in good faith,” the statement read.

They have also urged the public to disregard “false narratives and selectively shared visuals” circulating on social media, claiming that misinformation is being spread by the parent and certain online platforms. The school has hinted at possible legal action if such posts are not retracted.(KNB)
