Residents Arrange Private JCB to Clear Snow after Patient Remained Stuck on Tukpura Douban Main Road; Anguished Over Admin Negligence

Bandipora 06 January (KNB): The residents of Tukpura Douban area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district arranged a private JCB to clear the snow accumulated on the main road of the area, after a private vehicle carrying a patient remained stuck for long.

The residents of Tukpura Douban alleged that despite continuous requests to its district administration for clearing snow from the roads, the people had to arrange a private JCB to make the road commutable for the vehicles, among which one was carrying a patient towards a hospital for treatment.

Residents who helped the patient boarded vehicle said that the administration and their promises are nothing but a joke. “We requested them (Administration) several times to clear the snow off the roads but got no response, when we came to know about the patient who was stuck here, we rushed to help them, arranged a JCB and thank god! they were able to reach the hospital without delay.”

As the heavy snow has battered the Kashmir Valley, the people hope to get the roads cleared by the administrations as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, the residents of Tukpura Douban had to do it all by themselves and pay from their own pockets to arrange the JCB and avert the delay in taking a patient to the hospital in time. (KNB)
