Rains Soak Plains, Light Snowfall Covers Higher Reaches in Valley

Srinagar 18 October (KNB): Several higher reaches in J&K have been covered under a blanket of light snowfall following the rains from Saturday midnight as was already predicted by MeT officials days ago. 

As per MeT officials, a light snowfall was received over higher reaches like Sadhna Top, Peer Ki Gali, Z-Gali, Zojila and Razdan Top. The same was observed following the prediction in this regard from the MeT department. 

However, the plains in Kashmir have been receiving an intermittent rain from Saturday night and a light spell of it still goes in Srinagar city at present. 

With the rains in plains and snow over several higher reaches, the temperature has taken a dip and a nip in the air is easily palpable, prompting people to clad themselves with warm clothes. 

Regarding the prediction for dry weather, MeT has already said that the rains are mostly likely to remain till today forenoon and expects a dry weather thereafter. 

It was further said that there will be mainly dry weather in J&K from tomorrow till 22nd of this month. (KNB)
