Police Raids House in Pulwama, Recovers 39 Kg of Poppy Straw 

Srinagar 09 August (KNB): Police on Monday said that they have raided the house of a person in South Kashmir Pulwama’s Litter area and recovered 39 kg of poppy straw from his possession. 

Police said that the person has been identified as Mitha Malik, a resident of Wasoora area in whose possession a poppy straw of 39 kgs was recovered. 

The officials said that the consignment was recovered following a successful raid by a local police, led by SHO Hafeez Choudary and SDPO Furqan Qadri, into the house of Malik. 

However, after the raid and arresting of the accused, a case was registered against him under relevant sections of the law. It was further said that the investigation has been taken up. (KNB)
