India Reports 28,204 Covid Cases, 373 Fatalities in Last 24 Hours

Srinagar 10 August (KNB): India reported 28,204 new novel coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours which is the lowest in 147 days, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

As per the morning update by the Health Ministry, 373 people lost their lives due to the deadly Covid-19, taking the total fatalities across the country to 4,28,682 so far.

The MoHFW said that India’s active caseload currently stands at 3,88,508, which is the lowest in the 139 days. Active cases constitute 1.21 per cent of the total cases and is the lowest since Mar 2020.

According to the Health Ministry data, highest ever recovery rate has been achieved and currently stands at 97.45 per cent.

There have been 3,11,80,968 total recoveries across the country so far out of which 41,511 patients recovered during the last 24 hours, as per the MoHFW.

As per the Health Ministry, the weekly positivity rate remains below 5 per cent and currently stands at 2.36 per cent. Whereas the daily positivity rate stands at 1.87 per cent, which is less than 3 per cent for the last 15 days.

Moreover, the MoHFW informed that 51.45 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive.

They said that the testing capacity has been substantially ramped up and a total of 48.32 crore tests have been conducted so far. (KNB)
