Kupwara 20 May (KNB): Kupwara Police claimed to have arrested Two militant associates and recovered Six live grenades in Main Market of Kupwara on Wednesday.
Officials said that on the basis of specific information regarding the movement of the duo, Kupwara Police established a special Naka at main Market Town Kupwara.
“During search/ checking Two persons were found in suspicious condition and on seeing the search party tried to escape from the spot but were chased and apprehended by the search party,” officials said.
Officials added that the apprehended persons on preliminary questioning disclosed their identity as Jahangir Ahmad Hajam S/O Mangta Hajam R/O Khawarpara Tangdhar and Ab Hameed Hajam S/O Mangta Hajam R/O Khawarpara Tangdhar.
Moreover, as per the Police officials, 06 Live grenades were recovered from their possession which they were going to provide to militants.
Officials said that in this context Case FIR No. 160/2021 U/s 3/4 Explosive Substance Act has been registered in Police Station Kupwara and further investigation into the matter is under process. (KNB)
