Police Arrest Lashkar’s 2 Associates in Budgam, Ammunition Recovered

Srinagar 14 July (KNB): Police on Wednesday said that two Lashkar associates have been arrested during checking in Central Kashmir Budgam’s Mohanpora area and recovered ammunition, incriminating material from their possession. 

As per an official, the police in Budgam along with 53 RR during joint naka checking at Railway bridge Mohanpora arrested 02 militant associates linked with proscribed outfit Lashker-e-Toiba and recovered incriminating materials & live ammunition from their possession.

Both the militant associates have been identified as Mohammad Ashraf Shaksaz r/o Kralnar Kalshipora & Mursaleen Maqbool Bhat  r/o Shamsabad Budgam.

Officials further said that the preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested militant associates were providing shelter, logistics and other material support including transportation of arms and ammunition to the militants of proscribed terror outfit LeT in various areas of Budgam.

“The arrested militant associates have been in touch with the PaK militant commanders through various social media platforms and were also in constant touch with Lashkar e Toiba self- styled militant commanders in Kashmir,” said the police official.                        

It was further said that incriminating material including posters of proscribed militant outfit LeT and live ammunition 30 rounds of AK-47 & 07 rounds of chinese pistol were recovered from the possession of the arrested militant associates.

However, a case FIR number 207/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and investigation into the matter has been initiated. (KNB)
