PDP Senior Leader Pays Tribute to Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on his Fifth Death Anniversary

Srinagar 06 January (KNB): Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who died on January 07, 2016 at AIIMS in New Delhi, was on Wednesday paid tributes by the PDP on his fifth death anniversary.

In a condolence meeting held at Srinagar, Rouf Bhat , party’s senior leader, underlined that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed reignited the hope for peaceful Jammu and Kashmir as he took several steps to bring lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Late Mufti Sayeed was a visionary and the most popular leader of our times who had massive following from all the three regions of our state,” added Bhat.

He said that the healing touch policy was one such CBM and history is witness that this particular policy gave much needed respite to the bruised people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Bhat further said Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had a dream of seeing South Asia as a most progressive and developed place in the World and he wanted to see Kashmir serve as a bridge between India and Pakistan, adding, “While he was alive he made every possible effort in that direction, needless to say it was during his tenure only that Kashmir witnessed the most peaceful times after decades of mayhem and violence. He made sure peace and development remains an inseparable feature of our unfortunate state of Jammu and Kashmir.”

Bhat also stressed on the need to realise the unfulfilled mission of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed under the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti and urged people to strengthen the party at all levels. (KNB)
