Srinagar 24 February (KNB): Commuters were in a state of shock after the roadside collapsed along the famous Dal lake in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Wednesday afternoon.
As per witnesses, the incident took place in the afternoon during which a two wheeler parked on the roadside fell in the lake at the Dal Lake area. In the accident, a portion of the road caved in and fell into the lake which resulted in the severe damage of the shikaras.
Witnesses also said that a red scooty could not be retrieved from the lake after lots of efforts from the persons deployed thereafter an accident took place. However, no reports of the casualty were received from the spot of the incident.
A local told KNB, “It could have turned out to be worse but thank god, no one got hurt.”
Moreover, regarding it, officials said that the vehicular movement on the stretch was put to halt and has been now diverted towards other connecting roads. (KNB)
