Srinagar 30 December (KNB): Police on Thursday said to have booked three persons, including a Sarpanch under Public Safety Act (PSA), in connection with narcotics peddling in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Police said that Sarpanch among three persons was involved in the narcotics peddling and used it to get the area’s youth into it. However, the trio persons on the orders from Divisional Commissioner Kashmir have been booked under PSA.
The three accused have been identified as Sarpanch Darpora Lolab, Manzoor Ahmad Lone, a resident of Darpora Lolab; Bilal Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Batpora Hayhama Kupwara and Tariq Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Lalpora Kolav Kupwara.
Regarding the incident, district police Kupwara also announced on one of the social media platforms about booking three persons, including Sarpanch, under PSA and said that their efforts would continue to uproot this syndicate. (KNB)
