KNB News Desk

Srinagar 30 December (KNB): National Conference President and Member of Parliament Dr Farooq Abdullah on Thursday said that the report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on the Hyderpora encounter is “incorrect” and police “killed” them.

Abdullah was talking to reporters after attending a function in Srinagar’s Tagore Hall where he alleged that police had killed them (Altaf Bhat & Dr. Mudasir Gul) , ‘and there is no doubt in that.’

The SIT report was briefed to reporters of late by DIG Sujit Kumar about the Hyderpora encounter in which he had told that a foreign militant killed Altaf Bhat and Dr Mudasir Gul. However, Dr Farooq Abdullah has categorically said that the report on the Hyderpora encounter is incorrect.

He further said that a judicial inquiry should be conducted in the Hyderpora encounter and advised police not to commit such things, which would upset the people. (KNB)
