Non-Local Labourer Murder: Budgam Police Arrests 2 Accused Non-Natives Within 12 hours

Srinagar 18 September (KNB): Budgam police on Saturday said that they have arrested two persons accused in committing murder of non-local labour, yesterday, at Brick Kiln 71B located at Labertal Budgam.     

As per police, on 17 September 2021 evening, police station Budgam received information that one person has been killed at Brick Kiln 71B located at Labertal Budgam owned by Riyaz Ahmed Najar & others as some labourers indulge themselves into physical altercation over some issue. 

In the incident, one labourer named Maan Singh aged about 35 years, a resident of Bagdar District Shahjahanpur Uttar Pradesh got seriously injured and accordingly shifted to SMHS hospital Srinagar for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.

Later, in this regard, a case FIR number 279/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation was taken up. 

Police said that during preliminary investigation, it came to fore that 02 accused were involved in the crime who were absconding after commission of offence. 

“After sustained efforts by Police, today morning one accused namely Dinesh Singh son of Kali Charan resident of Bagdar district Shahjahanpur Uttar Pradesh was arrested from Nasrullah Pora area of Budgam. With strenuous efforts by SHO Budgam, another accused namely Roop Ram son of Ram Burase resident of Bagdar District Shahjahanpur Uttar Pradesh was also arrested from Budgam Railway Station when he was trying to flee from District Budgam,” said police.  

It was further said that the dead body of the victim has been shifted to District Hospital Budgam for legal formalities and will be handed over to legal heirs for last rites. (KNB)
