Srinagar 3 June (KNB): Veteran Political leader of Jammu and Kashmir Muzaffar Hussain Baig and DDC Chairperson, Baramulla, Saffina Baigh condemned the attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and chairman municipal committee, Tral, Rakesh Padit last night.
In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau, Muzzafar Hussain Baig said, “I condemn the attack on BJP Leader Rakesh Padit. This attack is nothing but a coward act and needs to be condemned by everyone. This shows the cowardice of extremist groups working with an intent to distort peace in Kashmir.”
“Such acts only bring more misery to people of Kashmir. My heart felt condolences to the family. May the soul be at peace in heavens,” he added.
Hussain Baig’s wife and DDC Chairperson Baramulla, Safina Baig said that such attacks contravene all that people of Kashmir stand for.
“All efforts of the people, who believe in democracy, get undermined due to such cowardly acts. I strongly condemn the attack and pray for the peace of the departed soul,” she said, adding that such attacks contravene all that the people of Kashmir stand for.
BJP Leader Rakesh Pandit died in the attack last night. (KNB)
